Christian and Laura were called from their home church of International Baptist Church of Arlington to plant New Song Community Church.
What started with two couples expanded by God's grace to include other families and students.
New Song grew from meeting in a small basement suite, to a home, then to a community centre.
We were there one Sunday before the pandemic broke out.
Like others, we wondered how we were going to move forward. Through online worship services and a mid-week community group, we saw God bringing people to new life in Christ.
In the midst of a global tragedy, we saw God bring people to new life through faith in Jesus.
By God's faithfulness, New Song emerged from the pandemic having grown.
The pastoral team was formed, the church received charity status and we began gathering for worship in person at the Holiday Inn.
God opened the door for us to move into Gordon Greenwood Elementary School.
With a more permanent place to minister out of, New Song has been able to be a blessing in our community through block parties, kids camps, and outreach opportunities.
Ministry teams were developed, baptisms were celebrated, church membership was instituted, and servant-leadership development training started.
We launched new in-home community groups for Bible study, prayer, and the practice of biblical community.
We anticipate equipping disciples to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, walking life’s journey together.
The best days of New Song are ahead!
New Song Community Church is inspired by Psalm 96:1-4 and Revelation 5:9.
God has given New Song a vision to see a church planting movement of multiplying, multiethnic churches that gather all people of the world for worship, evangelism, and discipleship in Langley and beyond.
To see that day come, New Song’s mission is to lead people of all nations to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
- Isaiah 40:8
Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it rstands fast. By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants. If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.
- Psalm 119:89-93
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

- Psalm 119:89-93
God exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. He is, intelligent, spiritual, personal and rules over all of His creation. God is maximal in holiness, power, knowledge and all other perfections. To Him we owe exclusive worship, devoted obedience and our greatest love.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- Hebrews 11:6
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
- Deuteronomy 6:4-5
“You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
- Exodus 20:3–6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- Hebrews 11:6
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
- Deuteronomy 6:4-5
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father to those who become children through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
- John 14:6-7
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
- Ephesians 1:3-5

- Ephesians 1:3-5
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is fully God and fully man- conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and obeyed the will of The Father. His substitutionary death on the cross made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven and is returning in power and glory to judge the world and make all things new.
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.
- Revelation 21:5–6
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
- John 1:1-4
Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
- Matthew 1:18
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
- Hebrews 4:14–15
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.

- John 1:1-4
The Holy Spirit, fully divine, inspired the Scriptures and enables understanding of truth. He exalts Christ, convicts of sin, calls people to the Savior. He cultivates maturity in Christ, comforts, bestows spiritual gifts and seals believers for redemption. The Holy Spirit enlightens and empowers believers and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
- Acts 1:8
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
- 2 Peter 1:21
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

- 2 Peter 1:21
All Mankind is the special creation of God, made in His own image and worthy of full dignity. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. The gift of gender is thus part of the goodness of God’s creation. Created in innocence, but corrupted by the deceitfulness of sin and the Devil’s temptation, all men are born in sin and in need of God’s redemption through faith in Jesus Christ.
Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered... I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
- Psalm 32:1,5
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
- Genesis 1:26-27
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved.

Salvation involves regeneration (a new life and heart), justification (full acquittal), and sanctification (conformity to Christ) and finally, glorification (perfected holiness). Salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- Galatians 2:20
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
- Romans 10:9–11
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
- Acts 4:12

The Church is the Body of Christ which includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, tribes, tongues, peoples, and nations. In most of its uses in the New Testament, the church refers to an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers. The church is united in its worship of God and mission from God to make disciples. Both men and women are gifted for service in the church, but the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.
To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:
- 1 Corinthians 1:2
And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation,
- Revelation 5:9

The Kingdom of God includes both His general sovereignty over the universe and His particular kingship over men who have trusted in Jesus with childlike faith. The Kingdom of heaven is advancing and Christians should contribute of their means cheerfully, regularly, systematically, proportionately, and liberally for the advancement of the Redeemer’s Great Commission. The Kingdom will come in full when Jesus Christ returns at the end of this age.
for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
- Romans 14:11-12
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society.
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
- Colossians 3:18–21

- Colossians 3:18–21
Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimacy. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people. A Husband loves, serves, and leads his wife as Christ loved the church by dying for her. A wife submits herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ.
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
- Ephesians 5:22–24
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
- Ephesians 5:25–27
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

from the moment of conception, are a living blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents, based on biblical truth, are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline. Children are to honour and obey their parents.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”
- Ephesians 6:1–3
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
- Psalm 139:13-14
